Website Design Considerations
Create site content
Content is king!
Yes, pleasing design is important; but content is really what publishing on the Web is all about. While this part is up to you, keep these hints in mind:
- Writing for Web is not the same as for print. Short, concise, writing style is important. Website visitors' attention span is notoriously short.
- Respect copyrights. This includes graphics.
- Link to source content, rather than duplicate it.
- Don't contribute to "link rot" — don't change file names and organization without providing for redirection.
- Use linking selectively. Excess linking breaks concentration.
- Read about best practices and apply those which fit your situation.
